About CIPS

What is CIPS, and why does it matter?

CIPS — the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (UK) — is the world’s oldest and largest professional body for procurement and supply chain. Founded in the UK in 1932, its qualifications are the standard that major corporations and governments across 150+ countries rely on when hiring and promoting procurement professionals.

In the Gulf specifically, CIPS qualifications — chief among them MCIPS membership — have become a baseline requirement for leadership roles in the procurement departments of banks, oil companies, and government bodies. Employers pay a premium for the credential because it guarantees a globally consistent standard of knowledge and competence.

Why Logic Institute

Three things that set us apart

  • CIPS Centre of Excellence

The first and highest recognition CIPS grants to training centres in Bahrain and the Middle East.

  • A full ladder, Level 2 to 6

  • Highly experienced trainers

Our trainers have actually led procurement teams at major Bahraini institutions, bringing that practical experience into the classroom. Among them, Abdul-Elah Ahmed (FCIPS), the first Bahraini Fellow of CIPS UK.

CIPS Bahrain — Answered

Why study CIPS in Bahrain at Logic Institute?

CIPS — the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (UK) — is the global benchmark qualification for procurement professionals. Choosing where to study CIPS in Bahrain decides three things at once: the quality of teaching you receive, how your employer perceives your credential, and whether your tuition is partly or fully subsidised by Tamkeen.

Logic Institute is the first and only CIPS Centre of Excellence in Bahrain and the Middle East. That designation isn't shared with other CIPS-accredited providers in Bahrain — it's awarded by CIPS UK to centres that meet the highest delivery standards globally. For CIPS Bahrain learners, that translates into instructors with practical Gulf-region procurement experience — practitioners like Abdul-Elah Ahmed FCIPS, the first Bahraini Fellow of CIPS — a full qualification ladder (Levels 2 through 6) under one roof, and a direct pathway to MCIPS Chartered status without leaving the country.

All CIPS programs at Logic Institute — from the entry-level CIPS Level 2 Certificate to the senior-level CIPS Level 6 Professional Diploma — are Tamkeen-supported. Bahrainis registered as jobseekers with the Ministry of Labour receive full 100% funding; employed professionals are funded at 100% within a support ceiling Tamkeen sets per program — where fees exceed the ceiling, the learner pays only the difference.

In short: CIPS qualifications in Bahrain are delivered by several providers, but only one Bahrain centre carries the CIPS Centre of Excellence designation. That is the practical difference between a CIPS certificate that employers respect and one that opens doors at the senior level — locally, across the GCC, and in 150+ countries that recognise the credential.

FAQ

CIPS in Bahrain — common questions

What makes Logic Institute a CIPS Centre of Excellence?

CIPS awards Centre of Excellence status to a small number of study centres worldwide that meet its highest standards for teaching quality, learner success, and tutor expertise. Logic Institute is the first centre to earn it in Bahrain and the wider Middle East.

Is a CIPS qualification from Logic Institute recognised internationally?

Yes. Your qualification is issued directly by CIPS in the UK — the same credential a CIPS learner earns in London, Singapore, or Dubai. CIPS qualifications are recognised in 150+ countries and are the global benchmark in procurement and supply.

Which CIPS level should I start at?

It depends on your experience and goals. School-leavers or those new to procurement usually begin at Level 2 or 3; those with practical procurement experience start at Level 4 (the Diploma). A short call with our program advisor confirms the right level for you.

Are CIPS courses Tamkeen-supported in Bahrain?

Yes — every CIPS level we offer (Levels 2 to 6) is Tamkeen-eligible. Bahraini jobseekers registered with the Ministry of Labour are funded 100%; employed professionals are also funded at 100%, within a support ceiling Tamkeen sets per program — where fees exceed it, the learner pays only the difference. Our admissions team guides you through the Tamkeen application.

How long does CIPS take to complete?

Each level takes roughly 6 to 12 months depending on your pace and the number of units. Part-time learners studying alongside work typically finish a level in 9 to 12 months; the full Level 2 to Level 6 (MCIPS) journey takes 3 to 5 years.

What is the difference between the CIPS Diploma and MCIPS?

The CIPS Diploma is Level 4 — the first full professional qualification on the ladder. MCIPS (full CIPS membership) is awarded after completing Level 6, and is the highest professional standard in procurement worldwide.

Do I need an English test before enrolling?

No. CIPS exams are sat in English, but there is no prior IELTS or TOEFL requirement. We assess your English at the admissions interview and advise if any strengthening would help before you start.
