Course Overview

The management foundation of the certificate. Covers the four core disciplines every logistics manager needs — marketing (7Ps, SWOT, segmentation, logistics marketing, PR, networking), communications and information flows (MIS, KPIs, CSR), finance (working capital, credit terms, business plans, funding, reconciliation), and legal aspects (warehouse and transport obligations, insurance, international trade).

  • Read and interpret core management information including KPIs and financial reports
  • Walk through a basic business plan including working capital, credit terms, and funding

Syllabus & course details

Mandatory module · 80 guided learning hours · Closed-book written examination · 50% pass mark. The role of management can be a very diverse and multi-disciplined practice that requires talented individuals to analyse, control and manage a multitude of operations and departments. This unit examines a range of management disciplines from marketing and information flow to business planning and commercial skills, under the four main components of Marketing, Communications, Finance, and Legal Aspects. Worked examples and self-tests help participants understand how they can apply their own experience and skill to real management situations.
